Birit QCAians ’09-’10 hails a sophomore
By Mille Jalandoni

One of the highlights of this year’s Foundation Day is the Birit QCAians ’09-’10 held last December 17. The elimination was held at the Alvendia Hall last December 9 in which only four of them made it to the finals:
Toni Ann Aricheta, II-Habacuc; Jerine May Pingco, IV-Calderon; Ronnie Verano, IV-Felipe; and Krizsa Marie Tanaleon, II-Ageo, with her piece: “I Surrender” by Celine Dilon.
“Cheeky”, as her friends call her, was born on April 19, 1994 as the younger of two siblings of Mr. Pedro and Mrs. Cristina Tanaleon. She graduated from Santo Niño Parochial School. Her favorite singer is Mariah Carey. To prepare for the birit she had enough sleep. She did a lot of singing practice. She plans to pursue a singing career. “She doesn’t only have a good singing voice; she is also pretty and amiable,” Ms. Eligio remarked.
“I felt so nervous while listening to my contenders while they were singing their own piece. Although I have been performing on stage for the past years, it was my first time to join a singing contest. But I knew I was representing my section. So I had to sing my piece to victory,” Krizsa told this reporter.
