Renz Garraez and Katrina Perez, both from section Antimony, won the 2011-2012 Mr. and Ms. QCA pageant which was held at the QCA roof deck last September 23, 2011.
The program was spearheaded by the Bureau of Social Studies director, Nicolai Parlan and Mr. Romeo Mangabat Jr., adviser.
The crowd gone wild as the candidates stepped out of the dressing room to do a production number with the Dulaang Esperanza P. Alvendia, also known as DEPA, supervised by their advisers Mr. Ruben Agustin, MAPEH teacher and Mr. Jason de Joya, Administrative staff.
The candidates of the pageant portrayed different ethnic tribes in the Philippines.
They also modeled different sports attires, suits and gowns. The most nerve wrecking part of the competition was the question and answer portion for the top four finalists.
By the end of the day Garraez and Perez both from section Antimony, accomplished to take home the crown of Mr. and Ms. QCA 2011-2012. They didn't expect that they'll be entitled as Mr. and Ms. QCA, because all of the contestants really did great in the pageant.
Other title holders were Angelo Inocencio (IV-AbadSantos) and Janine Cruz (IV-Hidalgo) as Mr. and Ms. QCA Luzon, Joshua Gonzales (IV-Hidalgo) and Bernice Layug (IV-Benitez) as Mr. and Ms.QCA Visayas, Jonas Cruz (III-Nickel) and Ariza Dela Peña (III-Copper) as Mr. and Ms. QCA Mindanao.
The special awards were given to Krisza Tanaleon and Jonas Cruz for Best in Talent; Renz Garraez and Katrina Perez for Best in Ethnic Attire ;Renz Garraez and Janine Cruz for Best in Suit and Long Gown and Best in Sports Attire.
“I have to give credit to my adviser, Mr.Romeo Mangabat, and the bureau for pulling-off a wonderful program despite the tight schedule. Kudos also to the DEPA and dance troupe for their outstanding performances. I believe that the king and queen deserve their titles, my heartfelt congratulations to the winners!” Nicolai Parlan the Director of bureau of Social Studies stated. “The winners were all deserving, they should remember that they serve as role models to co-QCA students,” Mr. Mangabat remarked.
