G’day Mate!
These past few months were filled with jampacked activities and programs. As always, Periscope is here to look at the sure-fire events and faux pas. Let’s look back at those activities.
The Mr. and Ms. QCA 2011-2012 was a success. I have to give kudos to the Search for the Mr. and Ms. QCA Committee spearheaded by Keziah Mamaril and adviser, Mr. Romeo Mangabat, Jr. They’ve successfully showcased the diversity of beauty and brains of QCA students.
The Mr. and Ms. UN 2011, which was also organized by the Bureau of Social Studies, lead by yours truly and adviser, Mr. Romeo Mangabat, Jr. Organizing this program was a tall order for me. Despite the tight schedule, it was a miracle of pulling off a program within three days.
Two days after the UN came the Living Rosary. The event was held as it should be, peaceful. The interpretative numbers of the Luminous Mysteries were inspiring. Kudos to the Bureau of Moral and Spiritual Values! To the director Julius Paolo Basa and adviser Ms. Juliet Cubita, three cheers!
The English Fest 2011, to the Bureau of English Studies director Denise Cuadro and adviser Ms. Juliet Cubita, my heartfelt congratulations for a wonderful program. But controversies rose among the participants after the program. I would recommend the bureau to look into this topic next year.
The Intramurals are on its peak. I expected that the Bureau of MAPEH Studies is having a hard time on scheduling of games due to the eagerness of the students to participate despite their low grades. The bureau should look into this next school year. The bureau should remember that students have different intelligences; one of those is the bodily-kinesthetic which also needs to be enhanced. Never-ending controversies also lurked during the intramurals but still, good sportsmanship prevailed in the event.
Despite the success of the other bureaus, there was one that remained invisible. Knock, knock, knocking on the Bureau of Clean and Green! I’ve been anticipating over the Clean and Green Day, since I’m a neat freak myself but I didn’t feel it come. What happened? The bureau should do something regarding this issue. They should be more active in keeping the school premises clean and making the students aware of their environment. It is never too late to catch up, so I hope the Bureau would do something to help in preserving the earth.
As the year is coming to an end, fewer events are approaching. I hope this will be a “guiding path” to the different bureaus and organizing committees.
Cheers!
